Ragging free Campus

Ragging is totally prohibited in Sri Padmavathi School of Pharmacy, inside and / or outside the campus and anyone found guilty of ragging and / or abetting ragging whether actively or passively, or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with UGC and AICTE Regulations as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being in force.

 


Sri Padmavathi School of Pharmacy ensures that the congenial and welcoming environment will be given to the freshers. To achieve this objective following committees have been formed by the Institute as per UGC Regulation 2009:

Punishments against Ragging

CAUSING GRIEVOUS HURT KIDNAPPING OR RAPING OR COMMITTING UNNATURAL OFFENCE.

IMPRISONMENT UPTO 5 YEARS AND FINE UPTO RS.10,000/-.

CAUSING DEATH OR ABETTING SUICIDE

IMPRISONMENT UPTO 10 YEARS AND FINE UPTO RS.50,000/-

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institution, the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging shall be any one or any combination of the following:

  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival etc.
  • With holding of results
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process
  • Forfeiting Campus Placement opportunities / recommendations
  • Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits
  • Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges
  • Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel
  • Cancellation of Admission
  • Rustication from the institution for a period, ranging from 1 to 3 years
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specific period
  • Fine of Rupees 25,000/-
  • Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
